Solar Panels Coming to Three Montgomery Parks Sites

PIO Jun 3, 2026
Using a portion of the $8.3 million state grant, Montgomery Parks will install solar energy systems at the Wheaton Sports Pavilion and Olney Manor Recreational Park, and launch an agrivoltaics demonstration project at the Agricultural History Farm Park. The projects are expected to reduce long-term operating costs and expand renewable energy across the park system. All three sites are part of the county's broader clean energy investment initiative.
