Wheaton Arts District Redesignated for 10 More Years

PIO Jun 11, 2026
The Maryland Department of Commerce has redesignated Montgomery County's Wheaton Arts & Entertainment District for an additional 10 years, effective July 1, 2026, through 2036. First designated in 2006, the district encompasses dozens of arts organizations, performance venues, public artworks, and cultural attractions in Wheaton. The redesignation allows the district to continue participating in Maryland's Arts & Entertainment District program and builds on recent county investments including Marian Fryer Town Plaza, the Wheaton Library and Recreation Center, and the planned Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center.
