WMATA Bus Shelter Work Delays Phase 2 at Shady Grove East

WMATA's bus shelter replacement work at Shady Grove East Metrorail Station has experienced delays: Phase 1, originally due to finish Jan. 16, 2026, remains underway. Phase 2, originally set to begin Jan. 20, is now projected to start Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. During construction, affected bus bays on Routes 73, 79, 90, 53, 58, 65, 71, 78 (Phase 1) and 74, 76, 43, 60, 64 (Phase 2) will be temporarily closed and served from ADA-compliant alternate stops.
