County Executive Proposes 6.3% Property Tax Hike, Income Tax Increase

Montgomery County Executive's recommended budget includes a 6.3 percent property tax increase and a retroactive increase in the local income tax. Councilmember Andrew Friedson announced he will not support any new or increased taxes in the budget. The county budget has grown by more than $2 billion over the past eight years, a 35% increase, according to Friedson.
