Elrich Proposes FY27 Budget With Tax Increases

County Executive Marc Elrich on March 13, 2026 released his recommended FY27 Operating Budget, proposing a 6.3-cent property tax increase and an income tax rate increase from 3.2% to 3.3%. The budget also includes $18.96 million in expenditure reductions and vacancy savings. The County Council will review the proposal over the coming months before adopting a final budget in May, with the new budget taking effect July 1, 2026.
